Securing and Empowering Businesses with Technology
Cyber fraud is a growing concern for small businesses as the pandemic forces them to digitize. Nearly a quarter of businesses have experienced cyberattacks since March 2020 with 5 per cent overall saying the attack against them was successful, finds the newest report by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). Relative to the whole economy, this means that about 61,000 small and mid-sized businesses were victims of cyberfraud last year.
Are You at Risk?
Businesses most at risk of cyberfraud:
- Those with 20 or more employees
- Those new to the digital space
- Those who allowed their employees to work remotely or made any changes to their online presence
- Those in the manufacturing, wholesale trade, business services and enterprise and administration management sectors
It’s more important than ever for small businesses to protect their information systems.
